Footy
Star is the first and only Aussie Rules Football career game. You take
the role of a 14 year-old footballer, yourself, with the potential to
become a star in the AFL.
To get there however, you must work your
way through the local and state leagues, train, keep your health and
match gear in good condition, gain yourself sponsors and of course play
matches.
Latest News
Finally, almost 5 months after my last news update, I'm back here to offer more news about the next version of Footy Star, and an explanation as to why there has been no activity from me during the last few months.
Firstly, the reason for my absence was school- Final exams came and went and they were obviously my first priority by a long way. I got my results a couple of weeks ago and I'm very satisfied (I'm able to do my first choice uni degree). So I apologise for making myself so scarce, and not replying to any emails, however I wanted to concentrate fully on school.
As for the game, the good news is that it is certainly still being worked on, with many new features being planned: Customisable local leagues, team coaching, new contract system, more in-depth matches and a few other things being the main additions. The 'bad' news is that it will be at least a month away, as I'll be heading overseas for the next month for a holiday. Rest assured that it will be done though, I enjoy adding on to Footy Star too much for me not to update it.
Finally, thank you to those of you who have downloaded and enjoyed my game, the messages of support are extremely encouraging (Including my cousin telling me that Footy Star is being played at her school, fantastic).
So Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and see you in 2006.

A number of bugs have been found since the release of Footy Star 1.3 a week ago, and these are currently in the process of being fixed. An update should be released by the end of this week that will deal with the problems mentioned in the bugs section of the Forums.
The Download section of the website now has links to 4 different locations that you can download the game from. This is due to the fact that some people have reported difficulties in downloading from SaveFile.
Finally (And least importantly), I encourage you to click on the Vote on Oz-games200 link at the bottom of the page.

Footy Star 1.3 has finally been officially released. After two months since the last update, 1.3 adds a host of new features, including the exciting, new team side of the game, the AFL Draft and Draft Camp, realistic statistics and plenty more.
You can download the game from the Download section of the website.
If you find any problems, visit our Forums or use the form below to send an email.
Footy Star 1.3 has been completed and is currently in the process of being tested. Testing will continue for a couple more days, after which an updated version of 1.3 will be released, hopefully bug free. You can download the current version of 1.3 if you wish to help testing it from the download section.
In the meantime, work has been put into creating this new website, which is a fair bit better than the old one, and also into creating a Forum. If you have anything you'd like say about Footy Star, drop into the forums and have a post. Suggestions, bug reports and general feedback are of course all welcome.
It
has now been a little over a month since I posted the latest update,
and so I thought it a good time to give everyone an idea on how the
update was coming along.
Only a week after 1.24 was released, I
began work on 1.3. First to be added was the more realistic stats,
which will now see player's performances range from good to bad,
depending on the week their having.
Following that the more
in-depth team features were added, which includes ladder, records,
finals, and a number of other, smaller things.
Once this was
complete exam preparation took over, and it is only in the past week
that I have been able to return my attention to developing the update.
Still to come is the wide selection of local leagues, which is already
partially done, the AFL Draft and Draft Camp, a few other minor
additions and one major one that I'd like to implement, but keep secret
for now.
All in all, 1.3 is progressing nicely, and should be
complete soon. Check back here for announcements on any exact release
dates.
